Waverley Night Netball Association Inc., Tue Mar 6, 2018 9:51PM

It is with regret that the Board of Management of Waverley Night Netball Association Inc. (WNNA) announce the resignation of Michelle George (Centre Manager) and Ian George (Facility Manager) from their current roles at the Waverley Netball Centre.

Ian has been employed by WNNA since he began in the Car Park as a teenager and became a full-time member of staff when the Waverley Netball Centre opened, he is the longest serving employee of WNNA.  Ian commenced his work (or was drafted) into working at the Centre by long term Association President and Centre Manager Anne George and has been at the centre for over 23 years.

Michelle has been with the Centre for over 20 years, commencing work at the centre as a Netball Australia trainee not long after its opening. Michelle worked her way from Trainee, to Administration Assistant, Operations Manager and now Centre Manager. She has developed and maintained many strong relationships with key stakeholders at the Waverley Netball Centre and assisted many associations and clubs over the years. She has also held roles with Melbourne Kestrels and has been the WNNA Representative on the Henderson Netball Region Committee for many, many years.

Over the years their efforts, hard work and dedication have ensured that the netball community has enjoyed a magnificent well maintained centre, providing an exceptional standard of netball competition.

Ian and Michelle further demonstrated their commitment to the association and centre, by providing a significant notice period prior to their departures later this year, (Ian in September and Michelle in November). During this time the WNNA Board will work with both Ian and Michelle, to ensure a smooth transition to the next management structure.  Once the new management structure has been confirmed a notice will be issued to WNNA members.

The Board of the WNNA would like to sincerely thank Ian and Michelle for their significant contribution to Waverley Netball Centre over the years. We would also like to take the opportunity to wish Ian and Michelle, and their children Lachlan and Stephanie all the very best for their next life adventure.

Elspeth Martin - President

On behalf of the WNNA Board of Management
